Sammy's Story
The Story of an Unadoptable Dog

Look At Me Now!

Here is the big surprise I got!

That I told about  last time.

And it’s very surprising.

Because it’s called a portrait.

Except it’s not Bailey’s portrait.

Or anybody else.

It’s Sammy’s portrait.

That’s My portrait.

My own painted portrait.

Of Me.

Ann Ranlett painted it.

Because she’s very good at painting and those kind of things.

She even made my nose the right color!

Because not every Bichon or Poodle has the same color nose.

And here it is.

I hope you like it.

Because I like it very much.

Soon.

Anybody can get a print of my portrait in a frame.

If  they would like to.

But it doesn’t have to be that.

Because people could get some Note Cards too.

They can  have  my portrait on.

And you can get some ear-rings as well.

Here is how the ear-rings look.

But me and my Best Friend won’t get ear-rings.

That would be silly.

Because Bichons and Poodles don’t have ear-rings.

But my Kind Friend has ear-rings.

So I think she will get some for herself.

And maybe some gifts for other people too.

 If anyone would like to.

They can get the ear-rings here I think.

And however much money anybody pays for any of my portrait things.

Then Ann will give some of that money to help other animals.

I am glad of that.

Because there’s so many animals who need help.

Like I did.

Except now.

Not only I got rescued.

I got a painted portrait.

Of me.

Only me.

 Sammy.

The unadoptable dog.

Who was going to be euthanasia.

Just look at me now!

  1. That is a lovely portrait, really beautiful!

  2. I’m glad you like the portrait, Sam & Teagan. It was really fun to do because Sammy is such a cute dog. I’m happy that he and his Friends are my friends!

  3. Dear Sammy,

Wow – you look really cool in that portrait thing! Really! Cool! My human said so and there wasn’t any other human around, so I guess she was talking to me, so I came over and looked and knew right away that was my friend Sammy. There is another little white dog who lives in this town who sometimes annoys me, and I knew it wasn’t him. Yes. Right away, so your friend Ms Ranlett must be a very good artist. Wow! (By the way, those are pretty ear things, but I’m glad you and your best friend won’t be wearing them. I think they are for girls.)

I hope you and your best friend and your doodle friend are doing well.

    Your friend in Texas,
    Sam the Border Collie

  4. Woof! That is so lovely!! You are such a beautiful doggy and look so happy in your portrait! I’m so glad that you got your very own portrait. I know I’ve got one of my own and I’d have let you share it, but it doesn’t really work like that, you have to have your own otherwise it’s not your portrait. Hmmm that sounds complicated doesn’t it.
It’s really cool that other people can buy it too.. and the earrings and notecards!
Bye for now from your friend across the pond
    xx Teagan xx

    • Hi Teagan!

I’m glad you like my portrait.
      I didn’t know I could have that.
      Did you know that?

I think I know what you said about your portrait.
      Because maybe it’s about privacy.

      But you are right.
Other people can buy things with my portrait on.
Because we wanted to get some money to help rescue dogs.
      Like I was.

      Love from Sammy

Did you know that there is lilac and turquoise colors in my portrait?
      Because Ann Ranlett said so.
I didn’t know I had that in my hair.
I only knew about my Apricot ears and tail.
