Hannukah candles. Yolo County SPCA rescue dogs. And Christmas donkeys and horses. Abused Sacramento rescue Bichon Poodle mix, Samuel, lights his first Hannukah candle for all shelter dogs everywhere, hoping for light in the dark corners of their lives and for rescue miracles like Sammy’s Story.

Sacramento area 12 lb shelter rescue Bichon Poodle mix, Sammy, holds his own with the mostly Standard Poodle members of Poodles of Yolo, for a cold weather romp and ball game in the park Sunday morning. And he meets a cocker mix, Romeo, being fostered by the Yolo County SPCA, who was about the right size for a wrestling playmate.
